/Love your garden and want to ensure it thrives this summer? Any tap timer can set up a basic watering schedule, but the Holman wi-fi-enabled garden watering system is an even smarter solution, providing more convenience and control.
Drip irrigation is one of the most efficient ways to set up a garden watering system for your home. With drip lines installed around your yard to deliver water directly to each plant’s roots, not a drop is wasted. Setting up drip irrigation is fairly straightforward, and connecting your garden watering system to a Holman WX1 Tap Timer and Wi-Fi Hub takes it one step further, automating your watering schedule so you can set and forget.
In a garden where there’s a variety of plant types, such as grass, flowers, vegetables and hedging, it can be difficult to ensure each one gets the right amount of moisture. Setting up more than one garden watering system is simple with a Holman WX2 Dual Outlet Tap Timer and Wi-Fi Hub. The dual outlet allows you to connect two timers to one tap, so that you can have one for a drip irrigation system, for example, and another for lawn sprinklers. Both timers are then connected to the wi-fi hub, which is controlled through your smartphone.
This convenient feature allows you to set up separate watering schedules and adjust them as necessary, like if a sudden shower or heatwave hits, all with a tap on the app.
The Holman app monitors water usage from the tap timers, too, while soil moisture levels can be monitored through the Holman Smart Moisture Sensor. You can then adjust your systems and schedules to get the best results for your garden, while still conserving water and providing peace of mind. This can help you to become more water-wise and is one of many ways you can drought-proof your garden.
Asbestos, lead-based paints and copper chromium arsenic (CCA) treated timber are health hazards you need to look out for when renovating older homes. These substances can easily be disturbed when renovating and exposure to them can cause a range of life-threatening diseases and conditions including cancer. For information on the dangers of asbestos, lead-based paint and CCA treated timber and tips for dealing with these materials contact your local council's Environmental Health Officer or visit our Health & Safety page.
