Yates outdoor grass area in backyard with grass being nice and lush
Taking your turf to the next level is easy with the Yates range of lawn care products.

Simply lush lawns

Your lawn is so much more than a patch of green to cover the soil. It’s a play space, the epicentre of entertaining and summer living, a place to picnic, throw a ball or just lie back and look at the sky. So it’s worth a little effort to make it lovely. Mowing and watering your lawn is just the start to luscious growth – but Yates makes it easy to provide the extra care a lawn needs to be great. Here’s how to make the most of your lawn with Yates.

Step 1: Get rid of weeds

Don’t allow weeds to ruin the look of your lawn or prickles to puncture your fun. Get your lawn barefoot ready with Yates Weed ‘n’ Feed Hose On Lawn Weed Killer and Lawn Fertiliser. Apply when weeds are actively growing, preferably before they flower, and reapply every three weeks if necessary.

The handy hose connection dilutes the solution as it sprays – there’s no mixing or measuring required. Weed ‘n‘ Feed selectively kills the most common broadleaf weeds, such as bindii, clover, dandelion and thistles. Weed ‘n’ Feed also contains fertiliser, giving your lawn a welcome boost of nutrients for lush green growth.

Step 2: Feed to succeed

Support your lawn’s growth by giving it all the nutrients it needs. Yates Dynamic Lifter Concentrated Lawn Food is an organic based concentrated lawn fertiliser providing dual benefits of fast-acting nutrients and slow-release organics, which means you feed more lawn using less. It promotes healthy soil, which encourages earthworms and beneficial micro-organisms, in turn creating an environment for your grass to thrive.

Apply four weeks after using Weed ‘n‘ Feed: cast the granules over your lawn and water in. It’s suitable for all lawn types and can be used in spring, early summer and early autumn.

Step 3: Banish pests

If not kept in check, lawn pests can derail your lawn-care efforts. Keep an eye out for damage from bugs, especially early in the season (around mid-September), when overwintering adult pests emerge, and serve them an eviction notice with Yates Grub Kill & Protect For Lawns. The product not only kills many of the most aggressive lawn pests, it also binds with the soil to continue protecting against the dreaded curl grub for up to six months.

Some products are not available at all Bunnings stores, but may be ordered.

When using products to deal with pests, diseases or weeds, wear suitable protective equipment and always read the label, including application restraints and instructions, and follow safety directions. Store all garden chemicals and products out of the reach of children and pets.
