Want to grow like a pro during the cooler months? We’re sharing tips on how to take your lawn to the next level.

Get growing this autumn

At the end of summer, lawns can look a bit patchy due to wear and tear, neglect and insect damage. Fortunately, autumn’s warm soil temperatures are ideal for seed germination, so you can easily fill gaps or sort out thinning grass.

Munns Professional has high-quality products developed specifically for Australia’s climate. Here’s how to grow like a pro.

Start with a good feed

Boost soil health by applying Munns Professional Buffalo & All Lawns Starter Fertiliser. It contains a natural wetting agent and organic ingredients, including phosphorus to help with root development, making grass more drought-resistant.

Ready, set, sow!

Water, then resow with a suitable lawn seed. Munns Professional lawns and patch repair seed blend range contains a slow-release fertiliser and a unique wetting agent to help stressed lawns recover quickly. Depending on what your lawn needs, try one of these four products.

  • If your lawn gets a lot of foot or paw traffic from kids and pets, Munns Professional Couch is hardy and copes with dry conditions.
  • For an all-rounder, Munns Professional Kikuyu uses emerald kikuyu, with a richer leaf colour and a finer texture than regular types of kikuyu seed.
  • Munns Professional Sun & Shade is the best of both worlds, a dynamic seed blend that can be used in full-sun areas of your garden as well as shady spots. (It also won’t intrude into garden beds.)
  • Munns Professional All Lawns & Patch Repair Quick Fix seed blend has been formulated with fast-germinating grass varieties and is suitable for all types of lawns, helping to get your lawns shipshape in no time.

Tip: For extra efficiency, mix the starter fertiliser with the seed blend and spread them together.

Keep in mind...

  • Safety tip: Always wear the appropriate safety equipment (safety glasses, gloves, and a mask, for example) and always follow the instructions for the product or equipment. Always store products out of the reach of children and pets.
  • After applying fertiliser around edible plants, delay harvesting for a few days and rinse well before cooking and eating.
