Backyard patio with seating and columns by Vuepro
Three Vuepro products, working together, are the answer to installing timber posts with minimal fuss and stylish good looks

A helping hand from VUEPRO

Fitting timber posts is an integral part of many building jobs, such as installing decking and pergolas. Whether you’re a confident D.I.Y.-er or a professional tradie working for a client, VUEPRO can help you do the best job possible, using quality support fittings.

The reality is that many support fittings look pretty clunky, spoiling the graceful lines of the timber. Wouldn’t it be nice if those fittings were sturdy and simple to use, but also delivered a smart, clean finish? Here’s how VUEPRO can help.

The VUEPRO PROBOLT

Say hello to the VUEPRO PROBOLT. Ideal for a range of uses, including timber-to-timber connections, it’s zinc-nickel coated and has a concealed thread thanks to its clever male-female bolt design. Once in place, all you’ll see are the PROBOLT’s discreet end caps with their T50 drive head – no washer needed, no exposed thread or nut, and no need to trim excess bolt metal. The PROBOLT comes in M10 and M12 widths and sizes to suit 90-110mm and 110-150mm posts.

The next step to a neatly installed timber post is combining the PROBOLT with the T-Blade Post Support. This tough, galvanised steel bracket bolts into concrete and features a 10mm blade that slots snugly into the base of the post, with just a discreet line of metal visible. T-Blades are available in 80mm x 80mm, 110mm x 110mm, 140mm x 140mm and 180mm x 180mm sizes to fit a broad range of posts.

So far, so good, but you can give the job an even sleeker finish by adding a stainless steel T-Blade Post Support Cap to hide the base fixings. Slide it onto the T-Blade bracket, secure the post with the correct size of PROBOLTs, and there you have it – a stylish job that shows off the beauty of the timber, and not the fittings.

Step-by-step guide to giving your timber building projects a clean, professional finish with VUEPRO

STEP 1: Prep the timber

Cut a 10mm slit in the centre of the timber post to the height of the T-Blade Post Support. Drill holes in the timber to fit the bolts.

STEP 2: Fix post support to the ground

Install four appropriately sized concrete bolts to securely fix the T-Blade Post Support to the ground.

STEP 3: Add the support cap

STEP 4: Slide post over the fixing

Slide the timber post over the T-Blade Post Support, so the blade sits snugly in the pre-cut slit and the bolt holes align.

STEP 5: Secure with bolts

Install four VUEPRO PROBOLTS through the pre-drilled holes for a seamless professional finish. (Note: You can substitute with appropriate sized bolts which are fastened with hex nuts).
