/Home automation is now for everyone, whether you’re a tech whizz or not. The Australian owned and operated Grid Connect app – which you can access from anywhere in the world – makes it easier to control all your smart home devices through one user-friendly platform.
Security is vastly enhanced by smart tech, making this a great place to begin. Grid Connect-compatible cameras can be installed inside and out – use the app to receive mobile alerts when motion is detected, or view activity around your home remotely. Add a smart entrance lock and use the app to receive notifications when the kids come home, or to set limited access for guests. If comfort is a top priority, Grid Connect-compatible appliances can be switched on either through a touch of your device or with voice control. Adding an adapter with temperature and humidity sensor lets you monitor your home’s climate and switch on the air conditioning, fan or dehumidifier as needed. A smart socket with an energy meter allows you to not only control the devices you plug into it, but also monitor their power usage, so you can make educated changes to save money.
The magic of Grid Connect is its simplicity. Just download the app then, with each new smart device, take a few seconds to pair it with the app and allocate it to a room. Now you’re ready to control the device from your phone, wherever you are. But, should you encounter any issues, local tech support is available.
There is an enormous range of smart products – just look for the Grid Connect branding on the packaging. Advanced features of the app include ‘scenes’, which allows you to control several actions with a single tap of the app – for example, flicking on the coffee machine and selected lights in the morning, or turning out lights and setting the alarm when you leave home. Now, home automation is for everyone.
