How to attach a three drawer panel

Overview

Drawer panels give the front of your drawers a neat finish. Learn how simple they are to install. We show you how to mount the panels so they are properly spaced and sit square with the cabinet. You will also see why it is good to have a counter sink drill bit for your drill.

Steps

1Install the panel on the bottom drawer

Remove the upper drawers. Then clamp the bottom panel into place on the drawer, so all the edges line up with the cabinet. Use a counter sink drill bit to pre-drill screw holes through the drawer into the panel. The counter sink bit creates a space for the screw head to sit as it drills. Drill four screw holes for a deep drawer, two holes if it's shallow. Screw the panel into place, leaving the screws slightly loose in case you need to adjust them

2Install the panels in the upper drawers

Put the next drawer in the cabinet. Place the Kaboodle handle template on top of the previous drawer panel as a spacer. Then simply repeat the process from Step 1. Do this for each drawer until the whole cabinet is finished. Do any last minute adjustments with the mallet then give all the screws a final tighten.
