How to control European wasps
By /
Banish buzzing and stinging bugs from your backyard with effective, non-toxic EnviroSafe traps.
Everyone loves a barbecue, but outdoor entertaining in Australia may come with unwanted guests of the six-legged variety. EnviroSafe fly traps and European wasp traps act like bouncers, stopping buggy gatecrashers at the door. Gentle but effective, EnviroSafe traps use food-grade baits, which are non-toxic, kid and pet safe and spray free, so there’s no fear of spray drift over the lunch table or residue left on surfaces.
Used in tandem with EnviroSafe Eco-Bait, these reusable traps are simply genius – flies are attracted to the food-based bait, which mimics their favourite scents. They enter the trap and can’t escape. Bye bye, fly!
Setting up an EnviroSafe trap couldn’t be easier: pop the bait in the trap, add water and swirl to mix, then place the trap outside and let it do its thing. Unlike other methods such as sprays, which require you stand sentry over the lunch table, respraying as the bugs keep coming, EnviroSafe works 24/7 to keep your space fly free. Simply set it up, then forget about it until the bait needs changing (every three to four weeks). Its natural formulation means the contents – flies included! – can simply be buried at least 30cm deep in soil or compost, or wrapped and placed in the outside bin.Tip: Check out this guide on how to keep flies away with Envirosafe.

Best for: Use this for areas closer to the house.
The EnviroSafe European Wasp Trap. While flies are unhygienic and irritating, European wasps can instantly clear a table. These pests are attracted to meat and sweets, and can deliver a painful sting on their way to the buffet. The EnviroSafe European Wasp Trap employs a specially formulated food-grade bait to attract European wasps, while avoiding beneficial insects such as bees, native paper wasps, hoverflies and lacewings.
Best for: Our cooler states, where European wasps are common.
