The ETH soldering tip has a temperature range between 350-850°F. The tip is made from solid Copper and then is plated in Iron after which a coating of Nickle Chrome is added for strength. This tip is equipped with a sensor hole in the base of the tip and fitted with a Stainless Steel liner to prevent the tip from seizing to the sensor. The ET Series Tips are designed for a maximum Heat Transfer from the heater to the tip. Weller adds extra solder on this soldering iron tips to protect it during shipping and handling. This gives them the appearance of conical tips. When the tip is heated, the extra solder goes away, leaving the screwdriver tip.
