Winner: Lisa and Rosco, House 3
“They’ve got these touchpoints that add luxury and they’ve done it in a really controlled palette,” said Judge Darren Palmer.
Lisa and Rosco recovered from their previous week with a stunningly (and winning) elegant main bedroom and walk-in robe that the judges loved.
After last week’s disaster when the couple didn’t finish, the WA couple got organised this week and pre-ordered all of their materials from Bunnings, to make sure the worksite ran smoothly. It proves that part of the success on The Block is actually about good project management.
Lisa designed the room to be calming – “a sanctuary”, she said. She introduced a curved wall element behind the bed to act as a lighting source and a bedhead and added curves to the bulkhead. A neutral tonal palette focused on creating interest through textural differences.
Shaynna loved the curved wall behind the bed, which she felt reflected the beachside location. “It’s hard to fault.”
The couple inherited the walk-in robe design from Courtney and Sev, who ordered the timber toned cabinetry in week 1, so they decided to embrace that aesthetic, reflecting the warm timbers in the bedroom. The wardrobe included a light-filled make-up area, plus a stone-topped central island.
The judges felt the design of a quiet luxury robe, with coastal detailing, natural light, limed plaster on the walls and ceiling, practical bedside choices and a controlled palette was close to perfect.

Design tip
When it comes to bedside tables, practicality should always trump aesthetics. Make sure your choices include drawers for storage.
