- A well balanced versatile sledge hammer for building, construction, mining and demolition work
- Head is normalised for a softer face (below 20HRC) that will mushroom, for applications where risk of chipping needs to be minimised
- Hammer heads are pinned through the steel core of the fibreglass handle for added safety
Regular steel hammers can chip, which can potentially lead to projectiles flying off the hammer at a high speed, possibly causing injury. Mumme Tools Normalised hammer heads are forged, then normalised for a softer face and are designed to mushroom rather than chip. Our normalised hammer heads are below 20 HRC (Hardness Rockwell C) and are suitable for applications where risk of chipping needs to be minimised. A Mumme Tools normalised hammer can be identified by the 'SOFT' stamp on the head, and our normalised hammer heads are painted light blue.
