- Useful for engineers and used in metal work for striking punches and chisels
- Hammer ball end for riveting work
- Hammer heads are pinned through the steel core of the fibreglass handle for added safety
- Head is forged then normalised for a softer face (below 20HRC) that will mushroom, for applications where risk of chipping needs to be minimised
- Includes tether hole for working at heights
Regular steel hammers can chip, which can potentially lead to projectiles flying off the hammer at a high speed, possibly causing injury. Mumme Tools Normalised hammer heads are forged, then normalised for a softer face, and designed to mushroom rather than chip. Our normalised hammer heads are below 20 HRC (Hardness Rockwell C) and are suitable for applications where risk of chipping needs to be minimized. A Mumme Tools normalised hammer can be identified by the 'SOFT' stamp on the head, and our normalised hammer heads are painted light blue.
