Kreg Jig Heavy Duty screws are optimized for use with the Kreg Pocket-Hole Jig HD and 1.5" (38mm) and larger stock. These large and long hardened steel screws provide incredible shear-resistance, and have a Protec-Kote™ finish with three anti-corrosion layers for long term moisture resistance. Kreg screws are case-hardened, a process that forms a tough outer shell (or case) to make the screw durable, but keeps the core softer to prevent the screw from becoming brittle. That means you get the best of both worlds: a strong screw that won't snap.
