/Nothing beats a barbeque feast. However, when you whip off the cover after winter, are you looking at polished hotplates, gleaming grills and shining stainless steel? Probably not. The solution is a good clean, and this is where Selleys BBQ Tough range of products* come in.
For a barbeque that has been in regular use, a quick scrub with Selleys BBQ Tough Wipes might be enough to get it ready for entertaining. Use the wipes nodule-side down. The wipes are suitable for surfaces in contact with food and can be used on cold or slightly warm hotplates, grills and racks, as well as the hood and utensils. They’re also handy before and/or after cooking on a public barbecue.
If you’re usually attentive to your barbecue’s cleaning needs, grab a bottle of Selleys BBQ Tough Grease and Grime Cleaner, which is ideal for regular de-greasing of your hotplate and grill. Simply spray it on, leave for a few minutes so the fast-acting formula can cut through the grease, and then wipe it off. (Use Selleys BBQ wipes for extra cleaning power.) Rub over the barbecue again with a clean cloth to get rid of any product residue, and you’re good to go.
If you don't clean your barbecue regularly, bring out the big guns with Selleys BBQ Tough Clean. Its non-caustic formula works to cut through grease, grime, fat and charred bits on stainless steel and cast iron racks, grills and hot plates.
Safety tip: It’s important to note that this power-packed product is flammable and should only be used on completely cold barbecues. Check the safety instructions carefully, pop on your rubber gloves, remove the parts you’re planning to clean and place them on a suitable surface. Scrape to get rid of any burnt bits, shake the can well and spray. Wait 10 minutes or so (up to two hours if the racks, grills and hot plates you’re tackling have been neglected for a while) and wipe with a damp cloth. Rinse with lots of water and dry off with a clean cloth.
Don’t forget to burnish up the other parts of your barbecue with Selleys BBQ Tough Exterior Clean & Shine. It works on surfaces including roasting hoods, doors and drawer fronts, control knobs, cooking surface surrounds and splashbacks: it can even shine up stainless steel.
After cooking, let your barbecue cool, then spray Selleys BBQ Tough Exterior on the non-cooking parts. Wipe off with a clean, dry cloth. If you do this after every cooking session, its special formula will help fight off the grease and grime from your next cookout, making cleaning that much easier.
Some products are not available at all stores, but may be ordered.
