    Steps

    1Mark the Easter hat

Place the hat on the underside of the turf mat and use a white marker to trace around the brim. Lift up brim in sections to mark the crown; remove the hat and draw the inner circle. Mark a line from brim to inner circle.
A hand traces around a Bunnings straw hat onto the back of an artificial turf tile with a white marker.

    2Attach the artificial turf

Cut along the line, then cut out the ring. On a drop sheet and in sections, apply hot glue to the brim; press turf down firmly. Make a slit at base edge of the pot with a utility knife, then use scissors to cut off the base.
A hand holds a piece of artificial turf as it is attached to the brim of a Bunnings straw hat using a hot glue gun.

    3Make the faux carrots

Scrunch sheets of kraft paper into two carrot shapes and cover surface area with masking tape. Paint carrots orange; let dry. Pierce a small hole in carrot tops and attach artificial fern leaves with hot glue.
Black gloved hands hold and use a small paintbrush to paint a carrot made from masking tape in orange.

    4Paint the bunny ears

Draw two bunny ears on cardboard and cut out with scissors. Paint both sides white; let dry. Paint pink inner ears on one side; let dry. Outline the ears with black marker. Hot glue ears to the inside of the pot at the front.
Black gloved hands apply pink paint to white bunny ears made from cardboard.

5Attach the pot to your Easter hat

Hot glue the pot to the Easter hat. Cover the hat’s crown inside the pot with coconut fibre. Cut stems from the artificial flowers. Hot glue flowers and leaves around the base of the pot, and hot glue carrots inside.
Hands attach artificial flowers on the artificial turf glued to the Easter hat.

    6Keep in mind...

    • When using a hot-glue gun, wear eye protection and a mask, work in a well-ventilated area, then place the appliance on its stand after use and allow it to cool down before storage. Do not leave unattended while in use or directly after use.
    • Paint colours may vary on application.
