Handmade picture place cards using Polaroid photos displayed on a party table

Overview

So the saying goes, 'a photo tells a thousand words'. Turn your party table into a gallery of memories with D.I.Y. picture place cards by having your guests take Polaroid photos when they arrive, then display them in these handmade holders.

These party place cards can then become cherished keepsakes that guests can take home.

Tip: Always wear the appropriate safety equipment (safety glasses, gloves, ear muffs and a mask, for example) and always follow the instructions for the product or equipment.

Steps

1Prepare your picture place card base

Wash pebbles and leave to dry. With a pebble in one hand, use your thumb to hold 20 gauge copper wire against the middle of the pebble.

2Create your picture place card holder

Wind copper wire around the pebble three times, tucking the start of the wire under the loops. Using pliers, cut a wire tail 200mm long. Thread tail under the loops, then twist the wires together.

3Shape your picture place card display

With the pebble in one hand, use your fingers to stretch out the wire tail so the coils are not as tight but form a wavy line extending above the pebble. Fashion the end of the wire into a coil shape, then insert the photo. Repeat the steps to make more party place cards.

4Keep in mind…

Take care when using copper wire, as cut ends can be sharp, and keep out of reach of children and pets.

5Why not up the memories with a selfie station?

People love to capture special moments, and our D.I.Y. photo stand is the perfect addition to your next celebration.
