How to use track lighting and spotlights

Whether you want focused task lighting, ambient highlights in large rooms, or the freedom to direct light where you need it, track and spotlights are an endlessly adjustable lighting option. The team at Verve tell us how these stylish lights can give you lots of possibilities.

Create highlights

Decorative spotlights and track lights are a great way to highlight shop displays and create a pleasant ambience. You can achieve similar effects in your home with our range of sleek modern lights which come in silver or white to suit any décor. You can direct them to throw light wherever you want it to go in your living rooms and bedrooms. And if you change your mind, or redecorate, you can simply point them in another direction.

Task lighting

One of the most popular places for track and spot lights is above your kitchen island bench and other workspaces. You can direct multiple focussed lights onto the busiest work space to eliminate shadows and ensure you’ll always be able to see what you’re doing. Alternatively, you can direct the lights side-by-side along a bench space to create a constant, even light all the way along.

Light up small areas

Track and spot lights are great in small spaces, such as hallways, entrance halls, laundries and ensuites. With multiple lights at your disposal, you can direct one or two at walls or the ceiling for a soft light, while maintaining a bright, focused light where you need it. They are particularly effective for eliminating shadows in front of mirrors and because they are easy to adjust, you can ensure there’s no glare in your eyes either.

Layer and position the light

When used in conjunction with other lights, track lighting and spot lights can help to create a relaxing mood or ambience in any space. Placed close to walls, they can be used to highlight artworks, photos or any other feature on the wall. Further away and you can create a wash effect on the wall that can make a room feel more spacious.

Flexible lighting styles

The ‘Apollo’ white series by Verve Design gives you the flexibility of one, three or four lamp track lights to suit a variety of room sizes and applications, so you can install them throughout your home. With a gloss white finish, the Apollo’s sleek, modern design will compliment any décor. The three lamp-head model is also available in a round plate design which is perfect for smaller spaces. These compact, integrated LED lights are affordable and energy efficient.
