We tend to take illumination for granted, with light available at the flick of a switch. But when an emergency strikes, having torches and batteries to hand means the difference between fumbling vulnerably in the dark or being calm, capable and in command.
Emergencies – from the inconvenient to the catastrophic – are a fact of life, but when the unexpected happens, it helps immeasurably if you can see what you're doing!
