A mother and her two children read storybooks by torchlight on the floor.
Don't let a lack of light throw you off your game. Own the dark with Energizer torches and batteries.

See the light

We tend to take illumination for granted, with light available at the flick of a switch. But when an emergency strikes, having torches and batteries to hand means the difference between fumbling vulnerably in the dark or being calm, capable and in command.

Expect the unexpected

Emergencies – from the inconvenient to the catastrophic – are a fact of life, but when the unexpected happens, it helps immeasurably if you can see what you're doing!

Pack a good torch in the car in case of a breakdown or make this an easily accessible item in your emergency kit in case of a storm, bushfire or other natural disaster. A tough, waterproof torch, like the Eveready Dolphin, is a good choice, so whether you're battling rain or even floodwaters, you'll be able to see the safest path for you and your family.

In the black

Power cuts are an inevitability for all of us, to some degree or another. Place torches around the house – next to the bed, in a kitchen drawer, and anywhere else you might need light – and stock up on good quality Energizer batteries as back-up in case the lights stay off for longer than hoped.

Camp sight

Being without power isn't all bad, and those family camping trips with basic facilities are priceless. But while it's nice to see the stars, a dark night is less fun if you're tripping over guy ropes. Bring a torch or two for trips to the facilities, and include an Energizer folding lantern on your must-pack list. This ingenious lantern has three settings: strong illumination, an ambient glow or a warm amber nightlight to leave on all night.

Light work

Whether you're a professional tradie or a savvy D.I.Yer, it's important to have a good source of light to work by to help avoid accidents; it's the most essential piece of safety equipment!

The Energizer folding lantern opens up for 360-degree illumination of your whole workspace, while a strong head torch is your friend for fiddly jobs or for hands-free illumination on the go. To support your D.I.Y. devices, Energizer Max Plus alkaline batteries provide you with long-lasting power and protection.

Health & Safety

Asbestos, lead-based paints and copper chromium arsenic (CCA) treated timber are health hazards you need to look out for when renovating older homes. These substances can easily be disturbed when renovating and exposure to them can cause a range of life-threatening diseases and conditions including cancer. For information on the dangers of asbestos, lead-based paint and CCA treated timber and tips for dealing with these materials contact your local council's Environmental Health Officer or visit our Health & Safety page.

When following our advice in our D.I.Y. videos, make sure you use all equipment, including PPE, safely by following the manufacturer’s instructions. Check that the equipment is suitable for the task and that PPE fits properly. If you are unsure, hire an expert to do the job or talk to a Bunnings Team Member.
