Man fixing garage door
Get a quieter, safer and smarter garage door opener for your existing door. It’s so easy, with Chamberlain

How to set up and automate your garage door

These are familiar tales: the garage door that requires muscle and a dash of luck to open and close; the one with the no-longer-functional automatic opener; or the one that breaks the dawn stillness of the neighbourhood with a rattle, screech and a clunk. Sometimes, there’s not much you can do except to replace the whole thing – door, motor and all – right? Wrong.

With Chamberlain garage door openers, you can swap your old system for a brand-new automatic opener (keeping the existing door) and install it yourself. Or just have a word with the helpful Bunnings Special Orders Desk and they’ll organise an installer for you*. They come with a five-year warranty.

Are smart garage door openers safe?

Yes. Replacing your garage door opener is about more than just convenience. If your garage door opener is more than 10 years old, it may not comply with current standards. All Chamberlain myQ capable openers** meet the current standards and you can add on additional safety features such as safety beams. These come included with the myQ smart garage door opener connectivity kit, making your garage smart and safe – especially for children and pets, and to stop accidental collisions with your car.

How to control your garage door opener

Chamberlain garage door openers come with long-range remotes, and if you want even more control over your garage security they’ve got you covered. All openers are compatible with myQ, which allows you to control your garage door from wherever you are in the world. Add a myQ connectivity kit and you can use your smartphone to let your kids into the house and check you remembered to close the door. You can even create schedules to close the door and turn on myQ lights, which helps keep your home secure when you’re on holiday. It’s next-level convenience for the modern home.

Ensure wireless devices and wall controls are always out of reach of children, as they can contain coin/button cell batteries which may cause fatal injuries if swallowed.
