“It’s perfectly appropriate for the region,” Shaynna Blaze said, about the panelled ceiling. “It’s something that you would come to Daylesford for. It has that beautiful feeling about it.”
A spectacular ceiling of timber battens cocooned the living and dining spaces of Britt and Taz’s home to great effect.
Britt and Taz have continued their successful run with a beautifully designed living and dining space using the same warm tones and “country vibe” as they called it, chosen for the rest of the house.
It’s been great seeing police officer Taz continue to build on his new building skills, especially when equipped with his new tool belt courtesy of Scotty Cam.
The couple made the decision to panel the entire ceiling of House 3 in timber (even the skylights) for a warm, cocooning effect, adding in lots of warm textures throughout the space – textured paint, travertine flooring (with underfloor heating), and a stone feature wall behind the fireplace.
A pale timber dining table, chairs and custom-made bench complemented the ceiling without drawing attention away from it, as did the pale stone chosen for the feature wall next to the fireplace.
“The attention to detail and the palette is just gorgeous,” said Darren Palmer. “This house is starting to feel really beautifully meshed together.”
Underfloor heating is an economical and effective way of heating a large room, and is especially easy to do in a new build, either before the concrete slab is poured, or under tiles, as Britt and Taz have done.
The paint colour that Britt and Taz used in their living and dining rooms was ‘Colorbond Paperbark’.
