PowerPass Pro

Attribute to Bunnings Head of Commercial Services, Rob Lockey:

We know our customers value being recognised for their loyalty, and that's something that's really important to us.

The new PowerPass Pro Rewards program moves beyond a traditional discount model by rewarding eligible small to medium-sized businesses and tradies for their loyalty. The program gives customers more value, flexibility and choice.

The more customers spend, the more they earn. Instead of an upfront discount on eligible purchases, members can access a broader range of benefits, including Pro Rewards Dollars to redeem and save on future purchases, discounted fuel at Shell of up to 8c per litre, Qantas points, special product offers, exclusive merchandise and $2 coffees.

The program has been shaped by extensive customer research and responds to changing industry needs, including increasing cost pressures and demand for value and flexibility. Our research showed customers want their loyalty recognised and rewarded in ways that genuinely support them and their business.

On background

Under the original PowerPass offer, customer value was primarily delivered through transactional discounts on eligible purchases. The discount was 5% on average.

PowerPass Pro Rewards is a loyalty program that rewards eligible customers with spend-based rewards, partner offers, business tools and tailored benefits that grow alongside their business.

PowerPass Pro Rewards members will receive $100 in Pro Rewards Dollars when they spend $2,000 and then $50 Pro Rewards Dollars for every $1,000 spent thereafter.

If customers are unsure which option is right for their business, our store teams or 134 TRADE can help.

Retail customers can access a loyalty offer through OnePass, which offers free delivery on eligible orders, 5x Flybuys points on in-store and Click & Collect purchases, express Click & Collect and early access.

Retail crime

Data on retail crime

  • Customer Threatening Situations (CTS) for the five-year period from 2022-2026 recorded at Bunnings stores:
    - Victoria accounted for around 31 per cent of all CTS across Aus and NZ, the highest volume of any Australian S&T
    - Victoria accounted for around 36 per cent of all repeat-person CTS events in this period across Aus and NZ
    - Of total CTS activity in Vic, more than 42 per cent was repeat-offender CTS activity
    - Over that five-year period, Victoria also accounted for around 50 per cent of the overall Aus and NZ incidents classified as 'threat of death or harm/weapon related'
  • In the past 12-month period (FY2026 so July 2025 to June 2026):
    - More than half (54 per cent) the total 'threat of death or harm/weapon related' incidents across Aus and NZ happened in Vic
    - nearly one-third (29 per cent) of the CTS across Aus and NZ occurred in Victoria
  • Note, Victorian stores make up around 22 per cent of Bunnings' total store network across Australia and New Zealand
  • Quote attributable to Bunnings Managing Director, Mike Schneider:

Retail crime remains one of the biggest challenges facing our industry. While we welcome the steps being taken across the country to strengthen protections, more needs to be done, particularly in Victoria, where the scale of violent retail crime is having a very real impact on workers, customers and businesses every day.

We have more than 10,000 team members across Victoria, and too many continue to experience threatening, abusive and, in some cases, violent behaviour simply for doing their jobs. We take our responsibility to provide a safe workplace and shopping environment seriously and believe everyone should feel safe when they walk into one of our stores, without fear of intimidation or harm.

Addressing retail crime requires stronger deterrents and practical measures that help prevent incidents before they occur, to protect frontline workers and customers. There is no single solution, but technologies such as facial recognition, alongside effective legislation, law enforcement and industry collaboration, can play an important role in identifying repeat offenders and creating safer retail environments.

We are continuing to invest in a range of measures to better protect our team and customers, including the introduction of facial recognition technology in our Australian stores, but we need more support. A practical and consistent approach that recognises the severity of retail crime and gives retailers the tools they need to intervene earlier, deter repeat offending and keep people safe is essential.

    Front of store

Please attribute to Bunnings Acting Chief Customer Officer, Rod Caust

We're always looking at ways to improve experiences for our customers and support our team.

Following a successful trial, we're rolling out changes to the front of more Bunnings stores, including combined registers, clearer entry and exit points, and sensor-based exit gates.

These changes make it easier for customers to move through the checkout, particularly during busy periods, while also adding to the measures we’re implementing to address the growing challenge of retail crime.

We’re listening closely to feedback from customers and our team to understand what’s working well and where we can make improvements as the changes are introduced across our network.

    On background

  • Combined registers, clearer entry and exit points, and sensor-based exit gates will be introduced in more than 70 stores. This is in addition to the four trial stores: Eastgardens (NSW), Box Hill (VIC), Oxenford (QLD), and Noarlunga (SA).
