Lockwood 5831 Series Low Energy Door Operator
The 5831 Series is a heavy-duty, low-energy door opener designed for moderate to high traffic areas where manual opening is the norm but occasional powered operation is required. It features a regenerative drive system that charges an onboard battery pack, eliminating the need for constant electrical power.
When using the 5831 Series, it's recommended to follow the 80/25 guideline—80 or more manual cycles per day with automatic operation used 25% or less of the time. Under these conditions, the operator generates enough power to keep its replaceable onboard battery fully charged. A fully charged battery can open a door up to 2000 consecutive times, accommodating occasional fluctuations in automatic usage without impacting performance.
If the 80/25 guideline is exceeded, the unit can be plugged into a standard 240V AC electrical outlet using the optional 1015T/24V Hardwire Kit, which includes a low-voltage plug-in transformer compatible with existing installations.
