The Komunity Project Icon Tail Pad is a 3 piece pad with a distinctive circle and triangular design. The grip is all one piece so you get great traction with no gaps. It would be important to make sure this pad will fit on your board width ways as it can’t be adjusted, expanded or reduced. So if you’ve got a Fish with a wide tail, or narrow pin tail, check your tail against the pad size. The pad is super thin with no arch so is completely flat. Kelly and many surfers favor this format. It helps you move your back foot around for big takeoffs or heel and toe surfing. At the back of the pad there’s a 20mm kick so you can plant your foot against to get maximum drive and power. This kick is quite small. If you’re used to putting your foot on your kick at some time, like during late heavy takeoffs, then make sure you position this pad right at the rear of your tail as the kick’s so small there’s nothing to stand on. A vee incut at the rear means you can place this grip closer to the end of your board, around your leg rope plug. So your back foot can be placed right over your back fin the location from which you get maximum drive. The multi-nub texture gives traction no matter what angle your foot is placed. High quality 3M adhesive keeps the pad in place once applied.
