Allthread is, to an extent the 'Madchen fur alles' (the maid-of-all-work) in the field of mechanical componentry. It is produced with far higher length to diameter ratios than any bolt or screw, and has the advantage of being able to be cut into various lengths by the user, as required according to the needs of the application. No other fastener has this flexibility.
