The Prooftint Colour Reducer is a specially formulated dilution base for Prooftint Traditional Stain, that enables the creation of lighter, more subtle timber shades. When staining large areas such as floors, Prooftint Colour Reducer helps to distribute the stain, allowing more time for it to be spread, resulting in a consistent, even finish. It can be mixed with Prooftint at any ratio to achieve the desired colour strength.

Prepare new and previously coated timber as per the directions for Prooftint.

APPLICATION

How to achieve your perfect colour match:

Add Prooftint to Prooftint Colour Reducer at the required mixing ratio to achieve your beautiful colour.
Make sure your stir well and apply the Prooftint Application instructions.

Check that you love your colour! Test the colour on an off cut or an inconspicuous area before beginning to check this is the colour you desired.

Note: The dwell time before wiping excess, and the finishing clear coat will impact the final colour.

For Small Areas

Apply Prooftint and Reducer mix directly to the surface in the direction of the grain, by either brush or rag.
After making a coffee ( 2-5 minutes) wipe the product off, depending on the colour you desire.
Allow to dry, then seal with Feast Watson Clear Varnish.
For Large Areas

Dilute Prooftint in Prooftint Colour Reducer which will give more working time to distribute the stain evenly.
Using a rag, brush or Feast Watson Floor Finish Applicator, apply the product in the direction of the grain.
Once you can see your desired colour, wipe off excess.

Allow to dry, then seal with Feast Watson Floorseal Oil, Feast Watson Floorclear or Feast Watson FloorProof Pro.
