  • Transparent
  • Fast drying
  • Locks in timbers tannin and oils
A penetrating sealer that locks in timbers tannin and oils, preventing issues with discolouration and adhesion caused by natural oils leaching over time. Proofseal reduces the tendency for lighter coloured timbers to darken once they are top coated. It is ideal for sealing naturally oily timbers such as Spotted Gum, Brush Box and Tallowwood.

PREPARATION

New Timber
How to prepare new timber with
Proofseal:

Sand to a smooth surface and remove all sanding dust before coating.
Look to achieve a super-smooth finish? Apply a coat of Feast Watson Sanding Sealer and sand back as per the directions prior to applying Proofseal.
Previously Coated Timber
How to prepare previously coated timber:

If your timber has been previously varnished, you need to sand back to bare timber to ensure the best results.
Remember to remove all sanding dust before coating!

APPLICATION

Make sure to stir Proofseal thoroughly before and during application with a flat blade stirrer.
Apply a flood coat using a brush, roller or spray. Ensure edges and end grain are fully coated.
Do you have porous timbers? Apply a second coat using a spray, allowing for 20 minutes between coats.

To you have open grain timbers? Sand back the first coat prior to applying the second coat. Wait 20 minutes prior to applying finishing coating.
