Doug Smith Spares Shipping Policy

At Doug Smith Spares, timely delivery is as important to us as it is to you. We make every effort to dispatch orders on the day they are received, provided the order is received before 12PM on a weekday. Despite our best efforts, this service is never guaranteed, as backlogs in all warehouses can and do occur.

Exact delivery times can depend on a number of factors, including the weight and size of the parcel, where its going etc. As a general rule customers should allow 3-6 business days for delivery, although it can be much quicker than that.

We use reputable external courier services including TNT, Couriers Please, Australia Post and Aramax. Occasional delays are experienced during delivery which are out of our control. (such as floods, fire, industrial action, system errors and other malaise) As such we cannot accept responsibility for delays during carriage. But these delays are rare.

Please also ensure that your order has your correct delivery address, and if you are having the parcel delivered to a business address, that you include the name of the business.

All parcels will be sent with ‘Authority to Leave’ permission if the premises is unattended. We do not take responsibility for the safety of your delivery once it’s been dropped off. If you think that the delivery address is not going to be a safe place, please ensure that someone is there when delivery takes place, or consider having it delivered to your workplace for example.

Full risk in the products will pass to you upon delivery from us. Full title will pass to you upon receipt of full payment and delivery to you.

Doug Smith Spares Return Policy

For any returns, please contact us via the contact seller link in your Bunnings order confirmation email.

We ask all customers to talk to us if you have a problem with a part. We have been doing this for 50 years, and we will help you. We will always be fair, and we’ll accommodate you wherever we can but please don’t assume everything is returnable.

There are 3 main reasons customers may need to return parts.

1 - Change of mind (including buying the wrong part)
2 - Incorrect goods sent. (including damaged or missing parts)
3 - Warranty.

If you've ordered the wrong thing, we will take it back but under the following conditions:

1. Contact us first. We will give you a return Authority number. Please include that number with the goods being returned. Returns sent back without this may not be refunded. Please understand that if you buy online, and want a refund you have to send the item back, and you will need to pay the postage costs to do that.
2. Parts must be received back in original condition and packaging, undamaged, unused, and in saleable condition. The packaging must also be in original condition, with no additional writing or marks on the box. 
3. Parts must be returned within 21 days of invoice/receipt date.
4. Electrical components may not be returned for refund under any circumstances.(that’s any item which has electricity connected to it such as elements, pumps, PCB’s, valves etc). There is no exceptions to this, as it is a safety issue.
5. Freight and handling charges are non-refundable. The cost of returning the parts to us must be paid by you. Credits will only be considered once the part(s) have been received by us. Parts being returned to us are your risk until we receive them.
5. A re-stocking fee of 20% is generally payable on all items returned for refund. This covers us for some of the cost associated with handling the product, returning it to stock etc.
