Outdoor deck area with shade.
There are plenty of ways to keep your outdoors cool in hot weather. Whether it's adding some shade, installing a fan or even putting up a bistro blind or gazebo. With so many options available, there's sure to be one that's right for you.

Add some shade

Shade sails provide relief from the heat of the sun by offering a layer of protection between you and the sun's rays. They are generally made of flexible fabric or PVC and are pulled taut between several anchor points.

Shade sails are perfect for patios, pools and decks and are a distinctive design feature in themselves. Just be sure to work out which direction the sun goes and where the shadows fall, so you can angle your sail for maximum shade. With the right tools and materials, you can even install a shade sail yourself.

Shade cloth is also a cost-effective way to cover your outdoor area and protect it from the sun.

Create a cool breeze

Outdoor ceiling fans are another way to keep your outdoor area cool. They help circulate the air and can offer some relief on hot days and warm nights. They're also cost-efficient and give your outdoor area a touch of resort style luxury. An outdoor ceiling fan is definitely worth considering if you enjoy relaxing, entertaining and dining al fresco in the warmer months.

Get bistro blinds

If you want the versatility of an outdoor space that's usable all year round, it's hard to go past bistro blinds. They add a level of protection between you and the elements and are easy enough to install yourself.

Bistro blinds can be rolled up or down depending on the weather, giving you ultimate flexibility in your outdoor area.

Grab an umbrella

Outdoor umbrellas are a great option because they can be put up or put away as required. There are also many different styles and colours available, so it won't be hard to find one that suits your décor. Market umbrellas are smaller and more portable, designed to fit through the hole in your outdoor table. Cantilever umbrellas are larger, sturdier and can be tilted both vertically and horizontally to provide shade whichever way the sun is shining.

Shade where you need it

A portable or fixed gazebo has the versatility to give you some shade where and when you need it. There are some great options available and they can add a nice touch to your outdoor area.
