Whip up this easy-peasy Tic Tac Toe game with just some coloured pebbles and a coaster board. A blast for kids of all ages!
Safety tip: Always wear the appropriate safety equipment (safety glasses, gloves, ear muffs and a mask, for example) and always follow the instructions for the product or equipment.
Check if your pebbles are the right size for your board by seeing if you can fit three across easily. When you’re choosing your pebbles, it’s best to use flat pebbles so they’re easier to play with and decorate. You’ll need 10 pebbles in total. Once you’re happy with your pebbles, it’s time to decorate. You’ll need to paint five pebbles one colour and the other five pebbles a different colour so each player knows which pieces are theirs. Use acrylic paints, textas, stickers, glitter, pompoms, googly eyes and anything else you’d like to make them extra special. Get crafty with your design, you can go with traditional “X”s and “O”s or switch it up by adding stars, hearts or a little critters like bumble bees and ladybugs.
Next, you’re going to create your playing board! Take your ruler, greylead and mark your coaster into thirds vertically and horizontally. Then carefully connect these dots to create two horizontal lines and two vertical lines, leaving you with a nine square grid.
Now it’s time to make the coaster look just as fun as your playing pieces! Go over the lines with paint, coloured pencils or paint markers and add in some details with glitter pens, puffy paint, pencils or textas. Let your creativity shine!
Once all your decorative pebbles and board have fully dried, you’re all ready to grab a friend or a loved one to play tic tac toe all day!
