A simple tip for easier drilling

A magnetic nut setter tip attaches the screw to your drill magnetically, so you don’t have to hold it while you drill. It’s like having a second pair of hands to hold the screw in place.

Step by Step Instructions

1 Measure and mark where to place your hanging garden
2 Join the two long pieces of pipe
3 Join the vertical pipe and elbow
4 Attach the 400mm pipe
5 Attach the elbows to the long pipes
6 Clean the pipes
7 spray paint the screws
8 Paint the pipes
9 Hang the pipes
10 Hang your plants
  • Step 1. Measure and mark where to place your hanging garden

Because the hanging garden will be carrying a bit of weight, it will need to be attached to a ceiling joist. Use the stud finder to find the joists in your ceiling. The distance between the joists will also determine how big your hanging garden will be. Mark the spots where the hanging garden will be fixed.

  • Step 2. Join the two long pieces of pipe

Take the two pieces of pipe and join them with the T-joint.
  • Step 3. Join the vertical pipe and elbow

Take the 100mm piece of pipe and screw it into the T-joint. Add a 90-degree elbow to the end of the 100mm pipe.
  • Step 4. Attach the 400mm pipe

Attach the 400mm pipe to the 90-degree elbow. Then, screw an end cap onto the 400mm pipe.
  • Step 5. Attach the elbows to the long pipes

Attach the elbows to the long pipes. Attach a flange onto each of the 150mm pieces of pipe and then screw the pipes into the elbows. Tighten all of the joints.
  • Step 6. Clean the pipes

Use a rag to remove any dirt or dust from the pipes. You might need to use methylated spirits to remove any grease from them. After cleaning, remove the end cap from the pipe.
  • Step 7. spray paint the screws

Use the drill to secure the screws into a timber offcut. Then, give them a coat of black spray paint and leave to dry. This method will stop you from getting paint on your hands.
  • Step 8. Paint the pipes

Place the pipes on a drop sheet or newspapers and spray paint the pipes. You might need to apply several coats. When painting, do it in a well ventilated room and wear the ventilator.
  • Step 9. Hang the pipes

Use the drill and the screws to secure the flanges to the roof joists.
  • Step 10. Hang your plants

And there you have it, your own indoor hanging garden. All you need to do is put your favourite plants in place and enjoy the transformation.
