  • Monarch 130mm Walls & Ceilings Roller Kit

Instructions

Day 1

  1. To kick off your project, have your shopping list handy and go down to your local Bunnings.
  2. Come back home and wash the chosen wall using your sugar soap as per the label.
  3. Apply masking tape to areas you’d like to protect from paint, such as the ceiling, window framer or the floor trim. Make sure you cover your furniture with a drop sheet.
  4. Prep the paint using the instructions on the label. Load the roller with a reasonable amount of paint and start rolling the wall in an ‘M’ pattern. Start closest to the natural light source and continue until the wall is evenly covered.
  5. Using an unloaded roller gently let the roller roll down the wall to the baseboards in a straight-line with no pressure. Repeat this action – only this time, slightly overlap your last movement so your roller rubs away the line created by the previous stroke.
  6. Continue this across the area you have painted. Allow to dry for two hours.

Day 2

  1. Let yourself have a bit of a sleep-in, it is your day off after all. Once you’re up and ready, apply a second coat of paint to the feature wall and allow to dry for two hours.
  2. Finish by showing off your incredible handy work to your friends and family or even share it on your socials.

Master bedroom bliss

So, if you have a free weekend coming up, or maybe even lucky enough to have some time away from work, take on this simple project and upgrade your bedroom paint job. Be sure to check out your local Bunnings for everything you need.

These substances can easily be disturbed when renovating and exposure to them can cause a range of life-threatening diseases and conditions including cancer. For information on the dangers of asbestos, lead-based paint and CCA treated timber and tips for dealing with these materials contact your local council's Environmental Health Officer or visit our Health & Safety page.
