Scotch-Masking-Tape-Being-Removed.
Find out which Scotch masking tape will help you to achieve the best finish for your next D.I.Y. painting project with this handy guide.

There’s no better way to enhance your home’s aesthetic than by painting your interiors or creating a fun feature wall, but hiring a painter isn’t always in the budget. With the right Scotch painters' tape for your surface, it’s easy to get a professional finish even when you D.I.Y.

For smooth surfaces

If you’re working on smooth plasterboard walls, masking off areas of trim or painting tiles, glass or even metal, ScotchBlue Original Masking Tape can help you get crisp, clean lines as you paint. It stays in place for up to 14 days without leaving any residue, so you can take the time to get the job done right.

For larger areas

To protect deeper skirting boards, furniture and floors from paint splatter while you work, ScotchBlue Pre-taped Masking Film is an easy solution that’s conveniently pre-taped with Scotch Original Painter’s Tape. Suitable for most surfaces, it has a wider coverage than masking tape to protect larger areas. An inbuilt cutting mechanism in the dispenser makes this film even easier to use, and it can also stay in place for up to 14 days while you work.

For sharper lines

ScotchBlue Sharp Lines Masking Tape can help you to create clearly defined accent walls on multiple surfaces, including plasterboard, wood, trim, glass and tiles. Its Edge-LockTM technology helps to eliminate bleedthrough and ensure the crispness of your design. Remove this tape within 21 days of application to ensure no sticky residue is left behind.

For rough exteriors

Painting your home’s exterior is easier too, even when working on textured surfaces like concrete, brick, render and rough wood. All you need is Scotch Rough Surface Masking Tape and proper preparation, and you’ll be amazed at the neat lines and clean finish you can achieve. When used outdoors, this tape should be removed within three days.

For a gentler touch

If working on recently painted walls, wood floors, veneers and cabinets, use Scotch Delicate Surface Masking Tape. It features a gentler adhesive that will even work on wallpaper without causing damage. This tape is ideal for creating accent walls with decorative stripes or patterns and, with clean removal for up to 60 days, you will really have time to work your creative magic.

For all painting projects

Also suitable for use on plasterboard, wooden architraves and skirting boards, windows and tiles, Scotch General Painting Masking Tape can give you excellent definition for your interior painted surfaces. It’s best to take this tape off your painted surface within eight days to ensure clean removal.
