Cavity Drainage Battensâ„¢ is an innovative triple-layer, high-density polypropylene, self-adhesive, passive open air-flow strip. They are specifically designed to isolate and create ventilation, cavity drainage, and thermal separation in either vertical or horizontal orientation between pliable building membranes and various cladding materials and roofing sheets while providing a hard base to install to.
Cavity Drainage Battensâ„¢ is ideal for use as a non-structural cavity spacer with vapour permeable and vapour barrier roof sarking and wall wraps in residential and commercial constructions where thermal separation, occasional water drainage, passive air-flow, energy efficiency and condensation control are paramount. In metal roofs, Ametalin Cavity Drainage Battensâ„¢ helps to locate and keep the dew point to the underside of the roof cladding preventing condensation from forming on the underside of the pliable building membrane.
Cavity Drainage Battensâ„¢ is provided with a high tack adhesive backing, so there is no need for temporary fixings. The 10 mm thickness allows for applying a double thickness to make 20mm air gaps and reflective spaces for energy efficiency and ventilation requirements in NCC 2022 Vol 1, F8D5 and J4D3, and Housing Provisions 10.8.3 and 13.2.2. membrane.
Cavity Drainage Battensâ„¢ can withstand normal foot traffic and has great resistance to impact from cladding installation and screw pull.
