‘Green Pillar’ is a small to medium evergreen shrub with small rounded green leaves. It is one of the more compact growing forms of pittosporum only reaching approximately three metres tall and two wide. It makes for a great hedging and screening plant and can be grown in tubs, and only needs to be pruned occasionally for shape and to help keep the plant full and lush.
‘Green Pillar’ will flourish in full sun and takes part shade. It prefers fertile, well drained soil and mulch to retain moisture for the summer. It is frost tolerant and once established will cope with hot summers. (Grows well in Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney)
Growing tips: Feed well in spring and autumn. Mulch well, and give summer water. Prune once or twice a year to help promote new growth.
