As the name suggests, this form of Banksia is fantastic for exposed coastal conditions. It’s a very hardy, evergreen native tree which grows to approximately 15mts tall and 8mts wide.
The Coast Banksia has dull green leaves with the underside of the leaf being a Silver/white colour contrasting beautifully with the dark grey trunk. It flowers from autumn to spring with long, pale yellow spikes attracting nectar feeding birds.
Coast Banksia like full sun and will take part shade. It prefers well drained soil and will thrive in exposed coastal areas as well as being frost tolerant.
