- I am a hardy evergreen climber with tidy deep green shield shaped foliage and a compact habit
- I produce a prolific display of rich violet-mauve flowers from early winter through spring
- I grow well in pots and a great way to brighten up patios and paved areas
- I thrive in full sun to part shade
- I perform well in most soils but do best in those that are free draining and fertile
I am a hardy native climber that originates from the south and east of Australia.
I am characterised by tidy deep green shield shaped leaves and clusters of vibrant deep purple delicate pea flowers in spring.
Moderately vigorous I will climb a trellis or other structure if provided making me a great choice to add screening to a trellis, wires and open forms of fencing.
On flat ground without a support or flowing over a retaining wall I take the form of a well behaved ground cover.
Both my leaves and flowers are edible and can be used brewed into a tea or as a garnish.
