- I am a unique Australian native, just as happy in large pots and containers as I am planted out in the garden
- I produce masses of bright orange flowers during spring and summer. I am a great cut flower
- My long lived blooms attract honey eaters and other small nectar feeding birds
- I perform at my best in full sun, idealy 6+ hours of direct sun daily
- I grow 1.5m high to 1.5m wide
I am a stunning long lived native Kangaroo Paw with a spectacular flowering habit. My long lived tangerine coloured blooms are borne on upright tall stems during spring and summer.
I grow well in a broad range of soil types and positions.
I am a stunning garden and landscape plant with my tall flower stems attracting nectar feeding birds and insects.
I create great impact when mass planted.
I am happiest in full sun to part shade, but lower light levels will decrease the number of blooms I produce.
My flowers are long lived when cut to be enjoyed indoors.
A once a year tidy up after my flowers die down cut them down at the base of the stem. Every few years if my clump starts to look untidy or affected by heavy frost cut me down completely in spring close to the ground with a hedge trimmer or sheers.
I appreciate a feed with a good native fertiliser while flowering. Water during dry spells will ensure full sized blooms.
