I am a spectacular Australian native plant and come in a bright mix of flower colours.
My flowers are borne above slender, strap-like foliage.
Unique to Australia I have evolved to be pollinated by small birds for which I am a magnet.
My blooms have a similar shape to the paw of a kangaroo leading to my common name. The shape of my blooms have evolved to give visiting nectar feeding birds a face full of pollen while they retrieve their nectar reward from deep within my flower and thus allow them to perform their pollination duties.
