Sambucus nigra (Purple Elderberry) is a deciduous large shrub with rich green foliage. Elderberry features fragrant ivory white summer blooms followed by drooping clusters of dark purple to black fruits that can be cooked to produce jams and wine. The Elderberries flowers can also be cooked to produce cordials, teas and wines.
