Cuphea, a genus in the lythraceae family, includes around 260 species which are mostly native to Mexico and Brazil. C. 'Tiny Mice' is a selection from a breeding program carried out in the U.S. which saw its potential for use as a perennial landscape and ornamental plant. Spring brings us the first show of very unusual vibrant red and purple flowers that resemble mouse ears - hence its name. Flowers appear in abundance during the warmer months and will continue on into autumn.
