We recommend filling in a layered technique; starting with the cardboard box your garden bed comes in, followed by layers of logs, sticks and leaves, before topping with about 30cm depth worth of soil/potting mix. This amount of soil is all that is required for most flowers, herbs, fruit, and vegetables. We recommend to not use excess soil as heavy compaction can create unnecessary pressure.
