The Remsafe Cable Lock window restrictor is the world’s smallest cable restrictor. It can be installed on all window types and materials.Its compact design increases window safety and security by allowing the window to be opened and closed to the restricted distance without the use of a key each and every time.This versatile safety restrictor is suitable for all window types.
Installation: 1. Use a tape measure to measure a maximum opening distance of 12.5 cm from the fixed frame to the open window frame. The opening distance must not exceed 12.5 cm at any point.2. Secure the lock body to the fixed frame using either the timber screws or metal screws depending on window type. The lock body may be fitted either horizontally or vertically.3. Hold the cable bracket on the open window frame in the fully extended position to ensure the opening distance does not exceed 12.5 cm.4. Using either the timber or metal screws secure the cable bracket to the open window frame.5. Place screw cap over the lock body hole.6. Test lock function by locking and unlocking with the key. Ensure the bullet head is securely locked into the lock body. The key must be used to lock the lock. Ensure the opening distance does not exceed 12.5 cm.Maintenance:The manufacturer recommends maintenance is carried out on Remsafe products by a licensed tradesman every twelve (12) months. In addition, it is recommended that regular checks (every three to six months) are carried out by the user of each window safety device at the time of operation. Repeated force on a Remsafe Window Locks safety device may lead to general wear and tear and cause screws to become loose.Consideration must be given to the local environment and maintenance carried out accordingly.1. All screws must be checked to ensure they have not loosened. Loose screws must be tightened.2. All lock components must be checked for any signs of corrosion, cracking, or loss of function. Any locks showing signs of corrosion, cracking, or loss of function must be replaced immediately.3. Manually pull on cable and lock body to ensure against excessive movement. Any lock showing excessive movement must be replaced immediately. 4. If a window is able to be opened greater than 125 mm at any point a licensed tradesperson should be consulted for advice on the most appropriate window restrictor device for each window.
