1. Paint

Paint is the easiest way to change the way your kitchen looks. A lighter colour will brighten it up and make it look bigger.

Painting your cabinets and drawers is another simple way to improve your kitchen. To make the job easier, remove all of the handles and hinges from your cupboards and drawers before you start. If possible, bring in a cupboard door to Bunnings and find out what kind of paint would best suit the surface that you’re painting.

Preparation is important so sugar soap your walls and any surfaces before you start painting.

Changing the handles on your cupboards and drawers is another way to update the look of your kitchen. They come in a range of styles to match your décor.

Doorknobs are easy to replace and attach because they usually only have one hole. If you’re replacing handles, make sure the holes on the new handles are in the same location as the old ones. The best way to make sure you get the right fit is by bringing your old handles into the store.

Kaboodle has a handle-drilling template to help you fit the handles to your doors.
