Project Overview

In this video, Brodie shows us how to create a gift plaque for Dad for Father’s Day. With a nice message on the front, it’s a great gift for him to hang in his office or at home.

Step by Step Instructions

1 Making the base
2 Message to Dad
3 Decoration
4 Attaching the hanger
  • Step 1. Making the base

To make the plaque’s base, lie 10 pop sticks down in a row right next to each other so that their sides are touching. Next, glue 2 pop sticks along the top of the 10 sticks. This will be the base of your plaque.

  • Step 2. Message to Dad

When the glue is dry, turn your plaque over and use some bright coloured felt tip pens to write a special message to Dad.

  • Step 3. Decoration

Time to decorate your plaque. Using some craft glue, stick some nuts and bolts around the edges of the plaque to make it look extra special for Dad.

  • Step 4. Attaching the hanger

Cut about 20-30cm of twine and fold it in half. Using the glue, stick the two open ends of the twine to the back of the plaque to form a loop. Once the glue is dry, it's ready to give to Dad!
