A kid in the costume of airplane made of cardboard.
Using these cardboard craft tools designed especially for kids, the opportunities for creativity are limited only by their imaginations.

In this digital age of screens and devices, the simple art of hands-on play often gets forgotten. But a new range of cardboard craft tools by I-Create is set to change all that, giving kids all the tools they need to build fun and exciting cardboard creations and give flight to their limitless imaginations.

“It’s incredibly empowering for kids to take everyday items and turn them into castles, robots or anything their minds can dream up,” says Stephanie Hauer, National Category Manager at I-Create’s parent company, Smartwares Australia. “The combination of creativity, sustainability and hands-on learning makes this range truly special.”

Feeling crafty?

Within the I-Create range, you’ll find all the essentials to construct all manner of cardboard creations – think forts, spaceships, helmets, kitchen stoves … you name it.

“The 60-piece Brainstormer Kit is the ultimate starting point,” says Stephanie. “It has everything kids need – tools, screws and connectors – to jump right into creating.”

Individual components like hinges, brackets, screws and tools also form part of the range. The Safety Saw has a lightweight, ergonomic handle and rounded teeth to empower kids to cut cardboard safely without needing any adult assistance. While the hinges are where the magic’s at, giving little builders the option to add moving elements like doors or wings to their creations.

Large sheets of heavy-duty cardboard are also available, or make use of the complementary boxes at your local Bunnings.

Made to last

To ensure that these crafting tools are up to the job and can survive the rough and tumble of childhood play, I-Create has used cutting edge 3D design technology to make all of its products. This design process ensures that every bracket, hinge, screw and connector can be reused in multiple ways.

Parents have peace of mind knowing they’re buying quality tools for their children, and kids can let loose without fear of breaking or damaging their prized possessions.

Calling all builders

While the range is designed for children aged five years and up, there’s plenty for the big kids to get excited about, too.

“I-Create is perfect for parents who are looking for interactive activities they can enjoy with their children, as well as educators wanting to bring creativity and STEAM learning into the classroom,” says Stephanie. “Kids will benefit from hours of entertainment and the freedom to unleash their imaginations, while parents love knowing their children are learning valuable skills like problem solving and teamwork.”

These tools are the ultimate boredom buster during school holidays, and they also make a great gift idea. Not only do they give kids a break from their screens, they’ll introduce them to the eco benefits of upcycling.
