Quick Tip

Here’s a simple way to keep your drill bit from drilling too far into any material. When you need to control your hole depth precisely, there are a number of different depth stoppers you can buy. But if you only need a rough guide, wrap a piece of electrical tape around the drill bit at the depth you want to drill to.

Step by Step Instructions

1 Mark up the drill points for your window lifters
2 Install the window lifters on the window frame
  • Step 1. Mark up the drill points for your window lifters

Mark lines on the bottom of the window frame, 75-100mm in from both edges. Then centre a lifter on top of each mark and flush with the top of the timber. Now use your pencil to mark out the screw holes.
  • Step 2. Install the window lifters on the window frame

Drill pilot holes for each of your screws, making sure not to drill the whole way through the frame. Once the holes are drilled, screw the lifters into place and you are done.

Please make sure you use all equipment appropriately and safely when following the advice in these D.I.Y. videos. You need to be familiar with how to use equipment safely and follow the instructions which came with the equipment. If you are unsure, you may feel it is safest to consult an expert, such as the manufacturer or an expert Bunnings team member.
