Continue to Step-by-step instructions.

Step by Step Instructions

1 Prepare the surface of the hole in the gutter for patching
2 Patch the hole in the gutter
  • Step 1. Prepare the surface of the hole in the gutter for patching

Position your ladder close to the hole in the gutter and check the feet are standing on a sturdy, even surface. Then use your gutter cleaner and a brush to take all the dirt and debris away from the hole. If there is any rust, use a wire brush to remove it. If the gutter is wet, let it dry in the sun or use a heat gun.
  • Step 2. Patch the hole in the gutter

Cut a strip of patching tape to size with your scissors. Then peel off the backing and stick the tape in place. If you’re patching a big hole, use two pieces of tape with a 25mm overlap. If there are a lot of holes, consider replacing the whole section with a new piece.
