Cabot's Garden Furniture Oil is a water based, low odour exterior oil for garden furniture, benches and small exterior timber projects. It is designed to provide exceptional durability and lasts longer than traditional garden furniture oils.

PREPARATION

Note: Fill holes and imperfections with a suitable timber putty.

Weathered and Grey Timber
For best results, sand timber back to fresh substrate. Clean with Cabot's Deck Clean following label instructions.
Previously Painted or Varnished Timber Remove back to bare timber using a paint stripper, or sanding. Clean the timber with Cabot's Deck Clean following label instructions.
Previously Stained and Oiled Timber
Clean the surface with Cabot's Deck Clean following label instructions. Test if the surface is ready for coating by sprinkling water on the timber. If the water beads on the surface, repeat the application of Cabot's Deck Clean. If water is absorbed into timber, it is ready for coating. For a more transparent look, sand timber back to bare before coating.
Bare Timber
Skip the 4-6 weeks of weathering required for new timber and scrub damp timber with Cabot's New Timber Prep, following label instructions. New Timber Prep will draw out tannins and oils quickly from the surface. Always follow with Cabot's Deck Clean following label instructions. Remove excess water from the surface and allow timber to dry for at least
1 hour. Note: Cooler conditions could slow down the drying time of the timber.

APPLICATION
1. Shake lightly before use.
2. Turn nozzle to ‘on’ position.
3. Squeeze trigger a few times initially to activate Garden Furniture Oil.
4. Spray Garden Furniture Oil liberally along the length of the timber, including exposed edges and end grain. The initial milky colour helps with even product application, drying to a semi-transparent finish.
5. After spraying use a brush over each section applied to ensure an even finish.
6. Apply two coats, allowing 2 hours between coats.
7. Clean nozzle after use by removing trigger head and tube, place in container of water and squeeze trigger until water sprays clear.

MAINTENANCE
Re-apply a maintenance coat of Cabot's Garden Furniture Oil as the timber changes colour or when water repellency diminishes due to weathering.
Clean the surface with Cabot's Deck Clean following label instructions. Allow the surface to dry prior to re-applying Cabot's Garden Furniture Oil.
