Product Description

The Upright Birch is a narrow form of Silver Birch. It has typical green birch leaves that changes to golden yellow in autumn. The trunk is white after a couple of years making it contrast beautifully with the foliage.

Being a narrow form and only growing to approximately 10m tall, Upright Birch is often used as fence line screens, along driveways, in group plantings or as specimens to highlight entrances etc.

Birch have a fairly fibrous root system which means they’re not likely to crack walls, damage slabs or crush pipes if planted too close. It does mean, however, mulch is required for the summer months to help retain moisture.

They like full-sun or part-shade and well-drained, fertile, moist soil.
Fertilise at the start of spring once the first of the foliage appears with an all purpose fertiliser.
