Malus ‘Wychwood Ruby’ is a beautiful, hardy upright small deciduous tree with fantastic double ruby-pink blossom which covers the tree at the start of every spring. The foliage has ruby coloured new growth in early spring. It will grow to a height of approximately 4-5m x 2.5m wide in the first 4-6 years and can grow in full sun or part shade. This is an outstanding small feature tree, good for nature strip plantings or even for screening and hedging.
‘Wychwood Ruby’ would prefer well-drained fertile soil, consistent summer moisture and a good mulch to keep the root cool in summer but will tolerate almost any soil and dry conditions once established.
