Tufting perennial with arching long strap-like leaves. Blue flowers on stems in Spring are concealed in the foliage followed by cobalt blue edible berries in Summer. The flowers attract bees and beneficial insects and the berries birds and small mammals. Hardy, it is tolerant of salt, drought and frost.
